Finance Research Group, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research aspires to combine frontiers knowledge of finance with deep roots in Indian reality, so as to create new knowledge through an active research program, and apply this knowledge for improved decision making in government and in the financial industry. The past and present projects of the group are in the four areas of markets and asset pricing, financial intermediaries, household finance and corporate finance.
We cultivate full institutional knowledge and access to an array of high quality datasets. We have an ongoing conversation with decision makers in government and the financial industry so as to understand the questions faced by them. These elements support an active engagement with the global finance research community so as to be able to connect up to the larger discourse and the academic journals.
