Policy developments on securitisation in India

In 2019, the RBI constituted a “Committee on Development of Housing Finance Securitisation Market” in India and a “Task Force on the Development of Secondary Market for Corporate Loans”. On 8th June, 2020, the RBI published the following for public comments on its website:

• Draft Framework for Securitisation of Standard Assets; and
• Draft Comprehensive Framework for Sale of Loan Exposures.

These draft frameworks take into account the recommendations made by the Committee and the Task Force. Together, these frameworks will, if enacted, occupy the field on securitisation in India. This webinar seeks to bring together academic researchers, policymakers and practitioners to discuss and understand the impact of these developments.
